The history of the Colognia press printing house

In 1996, three friends, Jiří Rozvařil, Pavel Kubáč and Jan Dvořák established Colognia press in the town of Kolín. The official establishment date, according to the entry in the Commercial Register, is Monday 12 August, 1996.

We move into a brand new building on Havlíčkova Street in Kolín. We buy a new Gallus EM 280 flexo press.

We purchase our third Gallus EM 280 flexo press in a row, and invest in ABG Omega technology for the production of pure white labels.

We purchase and install a new Gallus RCS 330 high-end high-speed rotary press and begin work on expanding the production area and improving the quality of our facilities. 

We win the 2010 Packaging of the Year award for Braille on laminate packaging.

We commission new production facilities. We purchase and install a second Gallus RCS 330 rotary press, a Jetrion 4830 digital injector, and finishing equipment from AB Graphic International.

We receive an award from the World Packaging Organisation for Braille on laminate tubes (as the first Czech company in history to receive the Presidentís Gold Award).

We launch a client zone platform with a clear order history, invoice listing, and other areas for easier management and communication.

We launch production of a new product – "digital" peel-offs.

We invest in new technology for shrink sleeve production – we purchase a Karville 2 machine for precise gluing and subsequently checking bond strength.

We install a new printing machine – this time an HP Indigo 6800 digital machine and win 2nd place in the HN Company of the Year contest in the Central Bohemia Region.

We expand our building to include a new distribution centre. 

We win the HN Company of the Year contest in the Central Bohemian Region and are awarded the title of Vodafone Responsible Company of the Year 2018 of the Central Bohemian Region – and even of the whole Czech Republic.

This year witnesses the highest investment in technical infrastructure and R&D in the company's history. The most significant of these purchases is the Gallus Labelmaster 440 flexographic printing press.

Following on from the national awards last year, we also win the prestigious multinational WorldStar Award, presented by the World Packaging Organisation, in the Beverages category for "Switchle" – an organic sparkling soft drink from the British manufacturer Healthy Sales Group.

The company's technological capacity is added to with a machine capable of applying hot embossing for small series.

We launch an online portal for personalised can printing. We manage to set up the shrink sleeve production process in such a way that orders pass directly to the printing machine – completely without human intervention.

This automated workflow for the web2print solution wins us the Packaging of the Year 2021 award in the Processes & Technology category.
